New SCORM Courses Added to Micro Learn Online
The Micro Learn Online library has grown, with new SCORM packages covering Level 3 team leader units, performance management, wellbeing and HR. Here's what's new and how to map it to provision you already deliver.

In short
Micro Learn Online has expanded its SCORM 1.2 catalogue with packages covering Level 3 team leader units (301 leadership skills, 302 personal and professional development, 303 managing the performance of others), performance management, personal wellbeing and people-profession topics such as total reward, HR and sustainability, and AI for people professionals. Each package uploads into any SCORM 1.2-compatible LMS and is billed per unique learner who launches it.
Key takeaways
- New packages map to Level 3 team leader units 301, 302 and 303
- Wellbeing, equality and diversity, and HR topics have all been expanded
- Packages are grouped by unit, so they can be sequenced across a programme
- Still SCORM 1.2, so nothing changes for LMS administrators
- Per-learner billing makes it low-risk to trial new content with one cohort
When we wrote about Micro Learn Online in April, the pitch was straightforward: ready-made SCORM 1.2 packages that upload into whatever LMS you already run, billed by the learner rather than by the seat.
The catalogue has grown since. The additions are worth a look for anyone delivering leadership and management alongside a technical programme, or filling the enrichment and mandatory-training layer around a core curriculum.
Level 3 team leader units
The most substantial addition is a set of packages structured around Level 3 team leader units, rather than as standalone topics:
- 301 — Developing effective leadership skills. Understand Different Leadership Styles; Assess Own Leadership Qualities.
- 302 — Managing personal and professional development. Understand Personal and Professional Development; Identify Personal and Professional Development Needs; Manage Personal and Professional Development to Meet Own and Team Objectives.
- 303 — Managing the performance of others. Understand Performance Management; Monitor the Performance of the Team; Provide Individual Feedback and Support to Manage Performance.
The structural point matters more than the individual titles. Because the packages are grouped by unit and sequenced within it, you can drop a whole unit into a programme rather than assembling a course from loose objects and hoping the coverage adds up. For a provider running team leader provision alongside technical qualifications — a common pattern where an employer wants supervisors developed at the same time as their trade — that saves a mapping exercise.
Performance management and people-profession content
Alongside the unit-mapped material, the HR and people-profession side of the catalogue has been extended:
| Package | Useful for |
|---|---|
| Introduction to Performance Management | Induction for new supervisors; underpinning knowledge before a leadership unit |
| Performance Management Models | Management development; appraisal training |
| Managing Underperformance | Practical follow-on for line managers |
| Total Reward | HR provision and CIPD-adjacent programmes |
| HR and Sustainability | Employer-requested ESG and sustainability content |
| People Professionals and Artificial Intelligence | Digital skills for HR teams |
| Continuing Professional Development | CPD expectations across professional programmes |
| Effective Communication; Time Management | Enrichment and employability across almost any cohort |
Wellbeing, equality and diversity
The wellbeing set has been broadened beyond a single introductory package:
- Foundations of Healthy Living
- Social and Digital Wellbeing
- Mental Strength and Emotional Skills
- Environmental Wellbeing and Sustainable Living
- Financial Awareness, Safety and Risk Prevention
Equality and diversity now runs to Foundations of Equality and Diversity plus Preventing Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment.
This is the layer most providers know they should cover properly and most often deliver as a slide deck in induction week. Having it as tracked SCORM content means it can be evidenced, which is a different conversation to having delivered it.
Nothing changes for your LMS administrator
The technical picture is unchanged, which is the point. Every new package is SCORM 1.2, downloaded as a ZIP, uploaded as an ordinary SCORM activity, and tracked through the standard LMS API. If your platform already runs the existing packages, it will run these.
Two things are still worth checking before you roll anything out to a live cohort:
- Register the LMS domain. Packages only load inside domains registered against your account, so a new LMS instance or a moved test environment needs adding first.
- Pilot with one group. Because billing counts unique learners per package per fortnightly period, trialling a package with a single cohort is genuinely cheap. Use that — check the content lands with your learners before it goes into an induction template that runs all year.
Mapping new content to existing provision
A short piece of advice that applies to any off-the-shelf library, not just this one: map before you buy in.
Take the units and programmes you already deliver, list the underpinning knowledge that currently gets covered informally — in a briefing, in a tutorial, in a conversation nobody records — and see which of those items has a package sitting against it. That's where ready-made content is strongest, because you're replacing something undocumented with something tracked, not replacing your own teaching.
Where it's weakest is anything occupationally specific. No generic catalogue will teach your specialism, and the design effort in doing it well is real, as we've discussed in developing engaging e-learning content and in our look at the role of technology in enhancing apprenticeship training.
FAQs
Do the new packages work in the same LMS as the existing ones?
Yes. They are SCORM 1.2, the same as the rest of the catalogue, and install as a standard SCORM activity in Moodle, TalentLMS, Cornerstone, Totara and other SCORM-compatible platforms.
Are the Level 3 packages a qualification?
No. They are training packages covering the underpinning knowledge associated with team leader units. They can support delivery of a qualification, but assessment and certification remain with your organisation and the awarding body.
How much do the new packages cost?
Pricing is per unique learner who launches a package in a billing period, shown on each package in the catalogue, and typically £2–£3. There is no seat licence and no charge for learners who never open the content.
Will existing deployed packages get updates automatically?
Yes. The ZIP you upload loads the live content, so content updates reach every deployed copy without re-downloading or re-uploading anything.
