This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use tvettrainer.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

TVET Trainer is a trading name of VQ Commercial Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 07416085. Our registered office is Osborne House, 20 Victoria Avenue, Harrogate HG1 5QY.

VQ Commercial Ltd is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, or want to use any of your rights, email us at support@tvettrainer.com.

What we collect and why

When you visit the website

  • Technical data. Our hosting provider records information about each request to the site, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use this to keep the site running securely and to investigate problems. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
  • Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how people arrive and roughly where they are. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. See Cookies below.

When you watch an embedded video

Some articles include YouTube videos. These load in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube does not set cookies until you choose to play the video. When you do, YouTube (Google) receives information about your visit under its own privacy policy.

If you bought a product from us before

Until October 2026 we sold ebooks and courses through Gumroad, which processed payments and shared your name, email address and order details with us. We keep those order records to meet our accounting and tax obligations, which is our lawful basis. We never saw or stored your card details. Our resources are now free to download, and we don't collect any personal data when you download one.

When you contact us

If you email us, we use your name, email address and the content of your message to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

Cookies

We only set analytics cookies if you accept them. Our cookies policy lists every cookie we use, what each one does and how long it lasts, and explains how to change your choice.

Who we share data with

We use trusted providers to run the website and our business. They process personal data on our behalf, or as independent controllers where stated:

  • Vercel — website hosting
  • Cloudflare — domain name services
  • Google — Google Analytics, and YouTube where you play a video (independent controller for YouTube)
  • Gumroad — sales of digital products until October 2026
  • Our professional advisers, such as accountants, where needed for our legal and tax obligations

We never sell personal data. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep data

  • Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
  • Records of past orders are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, to meet accounting and tax requirements.
  • Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and for up to two years afterwards.
  • Hosting logs are kept for the short period set by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your data
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data
  • object to us using your data on the basis of our legitimate interests
  • ask us to transfer data you have given us to another organisation

To use any of these rights, email support@tvettrainer.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we change how we use personal data, for example when we introduce new services. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
